Homicide suspected in East Point man’s death

Investigators believe a man found dead Tuesday afternoon inside his East Point home was the victim of a manslaughter. But police declined to say how the man died.

Officers were called to a home in the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue around 12:20 p.m. on a report of a person down and unresponsive. A man who lived in the home, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lt. Cliff Chandler with East Point police.

GBI special agents are assisting East Point detectives with the investigation. No further details were released.
