Man's death in Birmingham considered homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Police are classifying the death of a 29-year-old man found inside a southwest Birmingham residence to be a homicide.

The Website al.com reported (http://bit.ly/VXHq6g ) that the body was found at about 6 a.m. Sunday and has been identified as Nathaniel Oakes Jr. Police said they found the man unresponsive inside the residence.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced the victim dead. Police said evidence found at the scene prompted detectives to classify the investigation as a homicide.

No arrests have been made.
