Garage murder bid charge dropped

A charge of attempted murder has been dropped against an Anglesey man following a double stabbing on a garage forecourt.

The prosecution accepted guilty pleas by Keith Williams at Mold Crown Court to wounding with intent and assault.

The victims were the defendant's former partner and her new partner.

Judge Merfyn Hughes QC further remanded Williams, 55, of Brynsiencyn, in custody until January when he will be sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court.

The judge said he approved the prosecution's decision not to offer any evidence in respect of attempted murder upon the man.

Williams was charged following an incident when a couple in their 50s were injured at Ty'n Lon garage, Llanfairpwll.

The man was stabbed in the neck and received emergency treatment in hospital.

The woman suffered a knife wound to her chest area but was later discharged from hospital.

John Wyn Williams, defending, said a psychiatric report had already been prepared.
