Family of Christmas Day homicide victim releases statement

PORTLAND – The family of homicide victim Jaime Lyn Larson released a statement Saturday regarding the loss of their daughter.

The 33-year-old woman was found dead in her Southwest Portland apartment on Christmas Day.

"The family of Jaime Lyn Larson wishes to thank everyone in the community for their ongoing support during this devastating time. Everyone's support is heartfelt and greatly appreciated," the family said in their statement. "This was a horrific crime that you never expect to happen to a family member, and losing a loved child on Christmas Day makes the loss especially painful."

Officers were dispatched about 10 p.m. to the Park Terrace Apartments at 2073 Southwest Park Avenue on the report of a dead woman, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

Based on what the arriving officers saw, homicide detectives and criminal investigators were called to the scene, he said.

Detectives asked anyone who has information about her death, suspicious activity in the area of the Park Terrace Apartments or has seen Larson in the past few days to contact Homicide detectives.

There was no word on any possible suspects in the case.
