Swansea woman’s death a homicide, according to district attorney

The death of a woman, whose body was found in her Swansea home early Saturday morning, was called “suspicious” today by the Bristol County district attorney’s office.

The cause of death was unclear pending the results of toxicology tests due in four to eight weeks, according to a statement from the office of Bristol County District Attorney Office C. Samuel Sutter.

A family member found the body of Lisa Mello, 51, in her home at 500 Ocean Grove Ave. and called police around 5:35 a.m. Saturday, according to the district attorney’s office.
