Homicide location causes confusion
CAMDEN — The death of a 33-year-old Camden man who was shot last Thursday near the border of Camden and Pennsauken has caused some confusion as to exactly what town the crime occurred in.
Officials with the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said today they had determined the incident occurred in Pennsauken and as such would adjust Camden's record-tying manslaughter total from 58 to 57. However, officials from the office later clarified that the shooting did in fact occur on the Camden side of the line.
Edwin Crespo, 33, and a 32-year-old male were shot around 10:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Raritan Street last Thursday.
Apparently at issue was whether a small alley that disects the block fell on the Pennsauken or Camden side. The men are believed to have been shot while on the alley.
