LVMPD investigating murder-suicide involving woman and infant - KTNV Las Vegas

CREATED 1:39 PM

LAS VEGAS, NV (KTNV) - Las Vegas Metro Police homicide detectives are investigating what they say is a double murder-suicide.

Investigators were called at around 8:39pm Friday by a man who reported that his girlfriend had not shown up for work at a local hospital.

Police were then sent to a home on the 7700 block of Mocorito, near W. Hacienda Ave. and S. Buffalo Dr., where the woman was supposed to have dropped her child off at her ex-boyfriend's house.

After knocking on the door and receiving no answer, responding officers looked into a window of the residence and, reportedly, saw a large amount of blood inside the home.

Domestic violence detectives were called and obtained a search warrant for the residence.

After finding nobody inside, descriptions of the missing woman and the suspect's vehicle were sent out by investigators.

Police report that the suspect's vehicle was eventually found in the area of Sunset and Hualapai Avenues.

The body of a male, female and infant child were discovered inside the vehicle, the apparent victims of gunshot wounds.

Responding homicide detectives report that they believe the female victim and infant child may have been murdered at the Mocorito address and then placed in the suspect's vehicle.

They then believe that the suspect drove to the area where the car was found and committed suicide by shooting himself.

Metro detectives continue to investigate the crime and will release further details as they become available.

The names of the deceased will be released by the coroner once the next of kin have been notified.
