SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Bossier Police have arrested one man in connection with a double homicide committed in the Highland neighborhood.

Shreveport Police Cpl. Marcus Hines confirms that Robert Farris, 23, of Shreveport, has been charged with second-degree murder. Farris is in the Bossier City Jail awaiting transfer to Shreveport.

Farris' bond has been set at $ 750,000.

Bossier City Police arrested Farris while acting on a warrant from Shreveport.

A homicide investigation began on January 3 after two bodies were found in a house in the 200 block of Columbia Street in the Highland neighborhood.

Police say a family member discovered the bodies when she arrived shortly after 10 a.m. to check on a relative who had not shown up for work. When she went in, she found the bodies of a man and a woman who had been shot.

"The door was apparently unlocked and she entered the home and found two people," said Sgt. Bill Goodin with the Shreveport Police Department.

Both victims were declared dead at the scene. They have been identified as 57-year-old Stephen Bryant and 49-year-old Madonna Dean Wachter. Both are from Shreveport. Police say they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
