Jennings homicide victims laid to rest

JENNINGS, LA (KPLC) -

Still no answers to the tragic murder of Jennings couple Charles and Katrenna Williams last week, but today they were laid to rest.

The Simien-Lewis Mortuary in Jennings was filled with friends and family of the victims as they mourned their loss and prayed for some answers.

The couple was found in their home the night of Sunday, Feb. 24. The Jennings Police Department is in charge of the investigation and suspect the couples' deaths to be linked to foul play, but ruled the case as a double homicide.

"She was such a beautiful person and everybody loved her. No one could say anything bad about her," Katrenna's sister Latricia Duplessis said.

Duplessis said she and her sister were close growing up together and can't understand how something this tragic could have happened to a woman she said was so caring.

"It's devastating. Just the way it happened was even more devastating," she said.

A mutual feeling for Charles' sister Shanequa Jones.

"I got the phone call and I jumped on a place the next day to come out here, but it was just a tragedy. He had goals," Jones said.

Goals like moving and creating a better life for his wife Katrenna and 4-year-old son.

"He was a funny person. Always walked around with a smile on his face, always laughing," Jones said.

And for both families, they hope more answers on the case are brought to the surface and justice is served.

"My prayers that they find these people who've done this and prosecute them," Duplessis said.

The victims' 4-year-old son was unharmed the night of the incident. Family members told KPLC the boy is doing well and staying with family members for the time being.
