Homicide investigation in Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa police are determined not to let a homicide investigation turned into a cold case.  Sunday night, neighbors found the body of seventy-three-year-old Kate Ragsdale in her home. She'd been brutally murdered. Now, a retired FBI agent, who once worked as a criminal profiler,  is helping police in the case.

Police believe the suspect is young and lives near the victim.

Many people aren't talking about the case; however, the one person we did find who would speak said she wants to focus on the legacy Ragesdale left behind. and then she began to tell more about the woman whom she called a friend.

Elizabeth Aversa, a friend of Ragesdale's said, "This is a sad time, but a time I think some of us are going to try very hard to celebrate a life well lived."

We're told the person who murdered ragesdale showed a extreme lack of criminal sophistication. Investigators also believe the suspect is displaying tremendous behavioral changes. If you have any information call the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit.
